The Muslim Kadhi of Kabale District, Sheikh Kabu Lule, has condemned the practice of women traveling abroad for work, leaving their husbands behind.
He made these remarks during his sermon at the Eid-Adha celebrations on Sunday [16/06/2024] held at Masjid Kirigime mosque in Kirigime Ward, Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
Sheikh Kabu Lule emphasized that this practice goes against Islamic teachings, asserting that men should be the ones to seek work abroad while women should remain at home.
He urged those engaging in this practice to stop immediately.
In addition, Lule denounced the rising incidents of thuggery and land grabbing, which have led to an increase in community killings.
Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, also participated in the celebrations speaking out against corruption, calling on the public to combat this vice starting at the grassroots level.
