One person has been confirmed dead in a fatal accident along Kabale Ntungamo road.

The deceased has been identified as Yokana Ssempebwa a resident of Ntungamo cell Karorwa parish Bukinda sub county Rukiga district. 

It’s alleged than on the 27/2023 at around 09:40pm at Bukinda trading Centre- Ntungamo cell Karorwa parish along Kabale Ntungamo road, an over speeding Toyota Prado land cruiser silver reg number UBB 193K belonging to National water and Sewerage corporation [NWSC] veered off the road and rammed into a pedalcyclist Ssempebwa and knocked him down.

The Kigezi police spokesperson Elly Maate says Ssempebwa was immediately rushed to Kabale referral hospital where he died on arrival.

Maate says the drive of the vehicle Ambrose Kuruga a resident of Bunyonyi has been arrested to  help in investigations.
