Kabale: Three arrested for trafficking, kidnap, aggravated robbery

Police in Kabale have arrested three men for alleged trafficking in persons, Kidnap and aggravated robbery.

The suspects are identified as Henry Bakerwa aged55years and resident of Rwamirindi cell Rushaka parish Kayonza sub county Rushenyi Ntungamo district, Bashir Twesigye aged 41 years and resident of Ruti Mbarara district, and Sam Twesigye aged 38 years and resident of Kampala.

Its alleged that on 10/11/2023, three unknown thugs without any claim of right kidnapped and trafficked one Bruce Tusiime , while in the vehicle Toyota wish with unidentified number plate.

They covered him with a sweater on his face, tied him with a rope, assaulted him and robbed him of his money worth five million shillings before dumping him in the valleys of Bubare along Katuna road.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Police spokesperson says on the 28/11/2023 in the morning hours, while responding to another scene, the suspected vehicle wish Grey in color was sited along Katuna road.

Maate says it was intercepted and occupants were arrested, upon intelligence, the complainant confirmed that the occupants were the ones that kidnapped him.

It is further alleged that the suspects had on many occasions robbed many people within Kabale town and have other charges of stealing from motor vehicle vide Kabale CRB 844/2023, stealing from motor vehicle vide Kabale SD :65/01/11/2023 and others.
