Hotel owners hosting tourists have been urged to report and register suspected criminals.
This call was made today during a meeting attended by hotel owners, tourism hosts, and various security personnel. The meeting was held with the specific purpose of enhancing security in our district, particularly in the tourism sector.
Robert Tukamuhebwa, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Kisoro, also advised lodges that host tourists to consider hiring private guards from reputable private security organizations.
Kisoro District’s Tourism Officer, Richard Munezero, emphasized that they will collaborate closely with the security forces to ensure that security remains stable in Kisoro District.
He noted that despite the unfortunate attack on tourists in Kasese at Queen Elizabeth, were two tourists and their Ugandan tour guide were killed, they have continued to receive tourists in the region.
